After witnessing a decline in sales figures for several consecutive months for the previous generation of the Innova, the Toyota Innova Crysta has been launched and successfully managed to reverse this trend by recording an overall remarkable growth in sales in the first month of its launch. Launched on May 2, 2016, the Innova Crysta from the house of Toyota is the first proper update that the MPV has been given by the company in a decade of its presence in India. It seems that this move has triggered this success.
The Toyota Innova Crysta has received an overwhelming response from car purchasers across India ever since it was launched. The car maker, Toyota, has officially declared that the Multi Purpose Vehicle’s new upgraded version has thus far recorded more than 18,000 bookings since its launch. Interestingly, more than 60% of the overall sales of this vehicle have been contributed by the automatic ZX top variant. Due to the government imposed ban on diesel cars with capacity over 2000cc in Delhi and NCR which led to a decline in the sale, Toyota has got plans to release a petrol version of the MPV very soon.
The new Toyota Innova Crysta is based on the all new IMV (International Multi-purpose Vehicle) platform, which makes it overall much lighter, safer and stronger than its earlier model. Referred to as FIRM (Frame with Integrated Rigidity Mechanism), this brand new platform has helped to strengthen the front and side impact structures of this vehicle. It has also helped to better its handling and ride experience. The Toyota Innova Crysta’s new ‘GD’ series of diesel engine claims to be more fuel economic than the old ‘KD’ engines (2.5 litre 2KD FTV and 3.0 litre 1KD FTV). The new Toyota Innova Crysta returns an improved mileage figure of 14.29 kmpl (2.8 litre AT model) and 15.10 kmpl (2.4 litre MT model). It is on offer in three new vibrant colour shades – Garnet Red, White Pearl Crystal Shine and Avant-garde Bronze, along with the earlier shades namely Silver, Grey and Super White.
The Toyota Innova Crysta price starts from 17.2 lakhs in Delhi and goes up to 24.3 lakh, and Toyota Innova Crysta TCO is estimated to be around 14.8 lakh for a period of 5 years.
The great demand of this new Innova Crysta has resulted in increase in the waiting period for its delivery to purchasers. Currently, the waiting period is known to be up to 4 months. Considering the steady rise in its demand, Toyota has planned to ramp up its production capacity of the Innova Crysta. Presently, Toyota is producing 7,000 units per month of the MPV.
