Tata to unleash Nexon in India soon
Tata Motors after recently launching the Tiago hatchback car is now planning to release 3 new cars in the Indian car market, one of which is going to be the Tata Nexon which is a compact SUV. Internally known as ‘Osprey’ or the ‘X104’, the Tata Nexon will be placed below the Tata Safari. Since the car maker has begun with the testing phase of the vehicle in the country, we can expect it to be launched sometime around the first quarter of 2017, that is roughly April or May next year. The production model of the Tata Nexon looks identical to its concept car, which was unveiled by the company in the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. This new compact SUV model from Tata Motors is built on the modified X1 platform on which the Tiago hatchback is also built on. The Tata Nexon compact SUV will lead the company in the fast growing compact SUV segment and is likely to be positioned between the Zest and the Safari Storme.
Tata Motors has loaded this compact SUV car with all contemporary design and style elements. With an aggressive look and heavy chrome embellishments, the Tata Nexon looks quite contemporary and premium than its competitors. The final model will come with Tata’s trademark Diamond DLO, Slingshot Line and Humanity Line. With its futuristic concept and bold looks, this compact SUV makes a strong appeal to its target consumers. The interior of Tata’s new car Nexon, shares much of its looks with the Tiago hatchback. The all new Tata Nexon will be available in a 5 seater (2+3) layout, with a host of comfort and connectivity features. The front and rear seat design, dashboard with three spoke steering wheel with mounted controls and centre console design are borrowed from the Tiago hatchback. The car is also expected to come with a new generation Harman infotainment system.
