Tata Tiago gets 22, 000 bookings
The Tata Tiago which is the latest hatchback model from our very own car maker Tata Motors was launched in India on 6 April and has been doing pretty well since. And as of now, its order number has recently reached 20,000 units as per reports and Tata has said that the petrol model makes up for over 85% of the total bookings.
Reportedly, the company has confirmed that it has produced the 10,000th Tiago unit from its Sanand plant in Gujarat till earlier part of this week and reports say that all 10,000 have been dispatched to Tata dealerships. The Tiago is the second model from Tata after the Nano which has reached the 10,000 unit milestone in just two months.
This hatchback model comes with a new signature honeycomb grille with chrome accents, smoked head lights and a new set of alloy wheels. The Tata Tiago is built on the X0 platform from the Tata Indica series. The Tata Tiago is the Indian car maker’s first model which has been developed as per the new ‘Impact’ design philosophy which will be seen in the future for all Tata passenger cars like the Tata Nexon and the Tata Hexa. The Tata Tiago comes with two engine options – the 1.2 Revotron and 1.05 Revotorq. The 1.2 litre Revotron engine is a three-cylinder petrol mill producing 85 PS (83.80 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm, while the other 1.05 litre Revotorq engine is a three-cylinder diesel mill that generates 70 PS (69.01 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm torque at 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both engines deliver power to the front wheels of the car via a 5 speed manual transmission.
Tata Tiag Price petrol model and Tata Tiago diesel model start at INR 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and INR 3.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
