Next generation Beat to launch in India soon
All New Chevrolet Beat
American car major General Motors has unveiled the Chevrolet Beat Activ at the Auto Expo, which is the upcoming new avatar of the Beat hatch back model that is currently on sale in India. The next generation Chevrolet Beat had already made its public launch last year. While the 2016 Chevrolet Beat (Spark) would never be on sale in the Indian auto market, the new Beat specifically made for India and scheduled to be launched next year, is based on the present model and borrows the design ideas from the car that was showcased at the Auto Expo.
Chevrolet has reportedly confirmed that the new version of the Beat will be a highly revised edition of the current model since the next generation Spark proved to be quite expensive for the Indian price sensitive industry. The new Beat is built on a new flexible platform and will also be used further for multiple cars including the Essentia hatchback and the Beat Activ Crossover. The new model of Chevrolet Beat is already undergoing the testing phase on Indian roads and the car is being expected to reach the showrooms by the earlier part of 2017 or late 2016.

Last year, at a press conference that was conducted in New Delhi, GM had announced its future plans for the Indian car market which include launch of cars like the Spin MPV and a new Beat. However, based on consumer feedback, GM has decided focus on releasing cars in the highly popular segments such as SUVs, crossovers and compact sedans. According to GM India President and Managing Director Kaher Kazem, “There was an overwhelming response from our Indian stakeholders to the Beat Activ when we revealed it at the Auto Expo in Delhi. As a soft-roader, the vehicle is ready for any adventure or challenge, while its interior ensures the driver remains comfortable and connected.”
