Maruti Suzuki had released the Ciaz sedan in the C segment in 2014 and very soon it became the second bestselling car in the sedan category with huge demand from the car lovers of India.
The Ciaz comes with stylish looks in the front with a trapezoidal radiator grille with a lot of chrome along with projector head lamps, however the front fascia appears somewhat aggressive. The swept back head lights and its elongated hood give it a typical aerodynamically enhanced appearance. Dimensionally, the Ciaz measures 4490 mm in length, 1730 mm in width and 1485 mm in height with a ground clearance of 170 mm. It has got a wheel base of 2650 mm. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is available in a petrol as well as diesel engine.
The petrol model is driven by a 1.4 litre engine with 4 cylinders with VVT technology and is capable of producing 91.1 bhp of power and 130Nm of torque. It offers a mileage of 20.73 kmpl for the manual 5 speed transmission system. There is also a 4 speed automatic petrol model of the Ciaz which returns 19.12 kmpl mileage. The diesel model comes with 1248 cc engine that generates 88.5 bhp output with 200 Nm of torque and comes coupled with a 5 speed manual transmission system. It is said to offer 28.09 kmpl of mileage. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz price starts at 8.31 lakh in Delhi while Maruti Suzuki Ciaz TCO is expected to reach around 8.47 lakh.
The Volkswagen Vento has been in the Indian car market for quite some time now. While the overall look of the car has remained the same over these years, a few changes were introduced in its 2015 update.
In terms of design, not much has changed in the layout. The Vento now has got a restyled bonnet with prominent crease lines and new front grille with triple slats. The rear portion still has the earlier layout of the tail lights although with restyled internals, a sleek chrome strip on the boot lid and a redesigned rear bumper with chrome inserts and reflectors.
The design of the cabin inside is the same as before, but Volkswagen has brought in new colour themes and upgraded the equipment list according to the trims. The Vento come with cruise control, cooled glove box. The diesel-powered models come with a 1.5 litre four-cylinder engine that generates 103bhp @4400rpm and 250Nm of torque @1550rpm. The petrol powered ones, come with either the 1.6 litre MPI or the 1.2 litre turbocharged TSI engine. Volkswagen is also offering a 5 speed manual and 7 speed DSG automatic transmissions depending on the trim.
