Renowned car manufacturing company Honda has come up with their newest concept which is being called the “Exciting H Design!!!” This concept will be implemented in making all Honda cars globally to add a unique touch to Honda cars. The Exciting H design stands for three factors mainly, High Tech, High Tension and High Touch. These three factors will now be kept in mind while designing all new Honda cars with their exterior and interior designs influenced by this philosophy. The Honda City is a real beauty of a car which has also been designed using the same design philosophy.
Honda has introduced the 6 speed manual transmission with the BR-V petrol model, and now that same transmission is being expected to be offered with the Honda City. The company’s top selling premium sedan will get this transmission option with the highly acclaimed 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine which has been powering the City for more than ten years now. This new gearbox is going to make the cruising of the engine very easy, thereby making it more fuel efficient. The 1.5 litre engine generates a decent 120PS of power and 145Nm of highest torque.
When it comes to its competitors in the car market, only the Hyundai Verna is capable of producing more power and torque than the City. But the Verna’s 1.6 litre Gamma petrol motor comes with a 5 speed unit, which is also the case for the City’s every other rival such as the Ciaz, Nissan Sunny, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid. The diesel model of the City comes with a standard 6 speed manual transmission and delivers one of the best mileage figures of around 26 kmpl in its segment. The 1.5 litre diesel engine generates 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque.
The biggest competitor of the Honda City remains the Ciaz and both of these vehicles are very close in terms of their monthly sales. Talking about the launch of this expected 6 speed model of the City, there is no certainty as of now, but we may expect it to be launched sometime during the festive season, to give an additional boost to the sales.
The 6 speed manual transmission variant will certainly make the Honda City more fuel efficient and the first petrol sedan in the C-segment to boast about having 6 speed transmission unit.
