Honda Amaze crosses 2 lakh sales mark in India
There is no doubt about the fact that the compact sedan category of cars in India is certainly one of the most important factors that have contributed to the rapid growth of the Indian car industry. The Amaze from the house of Japanese car maker Honda is the company’s offer to this segment and is one compact sedan model which offers ample space on the inside and at the same time delivers excellent mileage, which has made it highly favoured for driving on city roads. The model had received some changes to it which was carried out to keep it at par with the stiff competition in the market.
After the Amaze was first launched by Honda in India, it quickly grew to be not only one of the hottest selling cars for Honda, but also one of the top selling cars in our country. With the launch of the Honda Amaze compact sedan, the Japanese car maker had indeed put forward a great step as far as diesel cars are concerned. Honda has reportedly said that this compact sedan Amaze has crossed sales volume of 2 lakh in the Indian domestic car market since it was launched in April 2013. The launch of the Amaze in our country had marked Honda’s grand entry into the diesel car segment in India.
“During the span of three years, Amaze has achieved sales milestone of 2 lakh units bringing more new customers into the Honda fold. The car has been extremely popular in both big and smaller cities due to its strong value offering,” Honda Cars India Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales Jnaneswar Sen said in a media statement.
An updated version of this compact sedan has been launched in March of this year with many new features loaded in it, which includes a variant that is powered by Continuously Variable Transmission or CVT. Other new features include rectangular AC vents inside the cabin with a restyled console at the centre of the dashboard, steering mounted audio controls, Aux-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Apart from these, newer additions like automatic AC and a 3D speedometer have made this compact sedan a close competitor in the car market. What has also worked in favour of the car is that the Honda Amaze TCO (total cost of ownership) is reasonable and quite at par with other competitors in its segment.
