From the house of our very own car maker Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, the NuvoSport is the latest SUV model. This NuvoSport is the spruced up version of the earlier Mahindra Quanto. This is a sub compact SUV that has been offered a new name and has also been given some fresh styling and improved features as well as an AMT unit.
The Mahindra NuvoSport is built on the same platform as the new generation Scorpio. Talking about its looks, the NuvoSport comes with a newly designed front fascia that has been given a complete restyling to make it appear more aggressive and SUV-ish. It has got overall dimensions of 3,985 mm length, 1,870 mm height and 1,850 mm width with a wheel base of 2,760 mm.
The interiors of this car have also been given considerable makeover with better features and looks than the Quanto and a remarkable boot space of 412 litres. However, Mahindra NuvoSport will retain the Quanto’s engine which is the 1.5 litre, 3-cylinder mHawk80 diesel motor, which has been re-tuned for improved efficiency.
The engine can produce an output of 100 bhp with a peak torque of 240Nm and comes with transmission options of a 5 speed manual gearbox and a 5 speed AMT (Automated Manual Gearbox). Mahindra NuvoSport also comes with a PWR and ECO mode, the latter producing reduced power and torque (180Nm) to offer better fuel economy.
Mahindra NuvoSport on road price starts at 8.41 lakh (Delhi) and Mahindra NuvoSport TCO is around 8.19 lakh.
The TUV300 is another mean machine from the Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. This company has released this car to capitalise on its strong market share in the SUV class of the Indian car industry. We must say that the Mahindra TUV300 does create an amazing impression at the very first glance.
From outside, the TUV300 captures a lot of attention for certain. Its front face has been given a large radiator grille with 5 chrome inserted slats and this is flanked by the square shaped head lights. The overall dimensions of the TUV300 are 3955 mm length, 1694 mm width and 1544 mm height, with a ground clearance of 165 mm and a wheel base of 2530 mm.
The interiors of this model have been given a mix of beige and black shades with elegant touches of dull silver which makes it look quite classy.
Inside there is generous amount of space which guarantees a super comfortable ride. Coming to engine specifications, the Mahindra TUV300 is powered by Mahindra’s mHawk80 engine. This engine is a 1.5 litre motor with 3 cylinders and is capable of generating maximum output of 84bhp and 230Nm of torque. The engine comes coupled with 5 speed manual transmission and is claimed to offer a mileage of about 18.9 kmpl.
