Mahindra Nuvosport Sales Dip Consecutively Since Launch
Mahindra NuvoSport – Sub 4-Meter SUV
Mahindra launched NuvoSport in 2016 March and it is the Quanto facelift, and it is a sub four-meter SUV. The car looks sporty and sophisticated, and Mahindra has engineered the car with a new style statement.
On the front is a signature radiator grille and the headlights look trendy, the NuvoSport has a neat compact body with a glossy and well-defined bumper. The interior of NuvoSport is similar to its predecessor visible on the same beige décor used in Quanto, the features that are different from Quanto is the presence of new steering wheel and instrument cluster.

The car is fitted with a powerful 1.5-liter diesel mHawk engine that generates fierce energies of 240Nm and 101PS. It moves on an admirable 17.45kmpl mileage.
Sale outcome of NuvoSport since launch:
The NuvoSport was among the most awaited new launches, and it has the features to reign the SUV market. Mahindra has however not been able to generate desired profits with the car, and it has not been doing too well since launch and has witnessed a sale dip month after month. The company has recorded an 8% sale increase in 2016 June, contributed by the sale of 39,011 units, significantly higher than 36,134 units sold a year ago. There was a steep rise in the export sale as well, resulting in a 41% gain contributed by the sale of 4,020 units higher than 2,852 units sold in the corresponding period.

The SUV market is a strong selling segment of Mahindra, and the company was banking on NuvoSport to gain consistent admirable market share. The firm has invested Rs 115 crore to build the NuvoSport and is aimed at achieving a production outcome of 18,000 units a year which is 1,500 units a month. The car was introduced sometime in 2016 March, and from then on till now, there haven’t been many buyers for NuvoSport.
From the period of March 2016 till now the sale outcome of NuvoSport has only reduced drastically. In March Mahindra sold 1298 units of the car, in April, 553 units of the car were sold, and the figures keep decreasing, in May 371 units were sold and in June 221 units were rolled out. Analyzing the sale chart of the Mahindra car over the months, it is evident that the popularity level and buying power of NuvoSport is low to a vast degree.
Competitors of NuvoSport:
As mentioned earlier, NuvoSport is a facelift model of Quanto, and this should have been a sufficient launch to gain vast market share. The competition power of the compact SUV market has been exceptionally fierce with the arrivals of Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Creta and Honda BR-V, and all these are strong contenders of NuvoSport.
